Shawn is an experienced tutor and teacher. Additionally, he has a BA in Linguistics and Philosophy, an MA in Linguistics, as well as 3 years of additional coursework in linguistic theory. He has taught within several disciplines, both academic and non-academic, including English, linguistics, swimming, climbing, and rescue skills.
Shawn is an amateur adventurer, triathlete, climber, and explorer. He wonders, explores, photographs, collects, and muses. He spent last summer at an archaeological dig in Turkey and then studying language in the Netherlands. He reads and collects books, old and new, particularly science-fiction, weird fiction, science, and linguistics.
He loves languages of all sorts and has spent a considerable amount of time studying English, the ancient Indo-European languages, and both Egyptian Hieroglyphs and culture.
